Why Partner with MIT?
The MIT Supply Chain Management Master’s Program (SCM) offers companies a unique opportunity to invest in their workforce while solving strategic challenges. Whether you’re looking to upskill mid-career professionals, enhance retention, or future-proof your supply chain strategy, partnering with MIT can help you achieve real results.
- Foster talent that can navigate the most complex supply chain challenges
- Improve retention by prioritizing professional development
- Experience measurable ROI through applied learning and capstone projects
The talent that MIT produces is best in class. It has an element of data science and technology, but what we’ve found is the students have a very good sense of business because they have previous work experience. Johnson & Johnson has benefited in a number of ways from the relationship.

How It Works
MIT’s Corporate Sponsorship pathway typically follows these key steps:
1. Enroll | Employees begin by enrolling in the MITx MicroMasters® in SCM Program. Courses run year-round with rolling admissions. |
2. Get Certified | Participants complete five graduate-level online courses and pass a comprehensive final exam (CFx). This phase typically takes 9–18 months with a part-time commitment. |
3. Apply | Certified learners may apply to the Blended Master’s program to complete their degree in a 5-month, on-campus residency. |
4. Graduate | Sponsored employees graduate with a Master of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management from MIT. |
Companies can also engage with MIT through student capstone collaborations and thought leadership events.
We joined the Supply Chain Exchange to get into the state of the art—and MIT is the best place for that. What’s unique is the ability to compare notes with other companies in a non-competitive setting, which has been incredibly helpful.

We provide some very tough business questions to MIT grad students and professors through our capstone projects. We spend around nine months solving them together, and the solutions are truly helpful for Johnson & Johnson and our business.
