David Hinkle

Candidate, Class of 2027

David attended Lehigh University for undergrad, where he dual-majored in Supply Chain Management and Marketing, with minors in Computer Science and Data Science. His professional experience began in the CPG industry, where he was previously in category procurement for Hershey’s, followed by the last two years with PepsiCo. There David worked in the field at their New River Valley Plant in Wytheville Virginia as a Transportation Supervisor in their largest Fleet location. David then relocated to their headquarters in Purchase, NY, where he returned to procurement on their Innovation and Commercialization team, owning end-to-end procurement readiness for Mtn Dew projects totaling over $1B in revenue. During David’s time at Pepsi, he has applied his technical expertise in Excel, SAP, TMS, and Quickbase to uncover data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making. David also led multiple initiatives to enhance supply chain visibility, drive cost savings, and improve processes. While at MIT, David aims to better understand how supply chains operate in complex, uncertain environments and how to make them more adaptable. He plans to apply his experience toward building stronger networks and improving organizational efficiency. Outside of work, David enjoys playing sports including volleyball and frisbee, playing and developing board games, and exploring nature.
