Student Voices

Learn more about the application requirements and get some great tips from SCM ’24 alum and former admissions ambassador Mayank Raj. His helpful guide to the application process offers clear definitions for each requirement, as well as insights into his personal experience as an applicant.

Every student journey is unique! Ginny Hsiang ’25 never imagined she would pursue a master’s in supply chain management, having previously labeled herself an “arts and humanities” person. Her first-person account of her unconventional path to this program is a great way to dive deeper into the daily student experience at MIT.

Program Curriculum

Our curriculum is practical and specialized, grounded in technical, analytical, leadership, and operational skills. And it all happens in just 10 months. You’ll study current trends, the latest research, timely case studies, and regularly engage with supply chain leaders at top corporations. You’ll even complete a 10-month capstone project, learning to solve real-world supply chain problems for industry leaders in real time.

Supply Chain Management Master’s Curriculum (Blended)

The Master of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management (MASc-SCMb) program is open to eligible MITx MicroMasters® Program in Supply Chain Management certificate holders. After completing the MITx Micromasters® certificate online—the equivalent of five graduate-level MIT courses—you can then apply to the SCMb master’s program. If admitted, you’ll  join the residential cohort on campus in January for the spring term and graduate with the group in late May. This blended option is ideal for seasoned supply chain professionals who want the flexibility and affordability of an online certificate, combined with a shorter time commitment on campus, while still reaping all the benefits and resources SCM and MIT offer. Learning Outside of the Classroom

In our residential (MASc-SCMr) pathway, you’ll collaborate with a company or organization on a 10-month capstone project that starts on day one. You’ll take part in an international expo and conference and have the opportunity to meet executives at major corporations on a Study Trek to learn first-hand how they manage supply chain challenges. You’ll participate in the Supply Chain Challengea three-week, business case competition where you and your team will work together to solve a data-centric supply chain challenge submitted by a partner company.
